The Korean Women’s Basketball League (WKBL) has finalized the list of participants for the 2024-2025 WKBL Rookie Draft, which will be held at Bucheon Gymnasium on Tuesday.

“A total of 28 players will participate in the draft,” the WKBL said on Aug. 8.

The roster consists of 22 high school graduates, three college graduates, one college player, one foreign national, and one overseas player. It has been about 15 years since the WKBL had more than 20 high school graduates at the 2010 WKBL Draft, 토토사이트 추천 which was held in 2009.

Among the high school graduates, there were eight players who participated in the 2024 FIBA U-18 Women’s Asia Cup, including Lee Min-ji (Sookmyung Women’s High School), Chae-won Jung (Bundang Management High School), and Jeong Hyun (Sungwoo Women’s High School), and a total of 22 players, including Kim Do-yeon (Dongju Women’s High School), who won the Most Valuable Player and Rebounding Award at the 2024 National Boys’ and Girls’ Secondary School Basketball Tournament.

The lottery method will be divided into two groups according to the regular league ranking and postseason performance in the 2023-2024 season. Accordingly, Shinhan Bank and BNK Thumb, the fifth and sixth-ranked teams in last season’s regular season, will be categorized into Group 1, each with a 50% chance of being selected first.

However, due to the trade between BNK Thumb and Shinhan Bank that took place in April (BNK Thumb’s Shin Ji-hyun and Shinhan Bank’s Byun So-jung and Park Sung-jin for the first-round pick in the 2024-2025 Rookie Draft), Shinhan Bank will have the first-round pick regardless of the outcome of the ranking lottery.

The remaining four teams in Group 2 will select the third through sixth picks with a differential probability of 50% for Hana OneQ, 35% for Samsung Life, 10% for KB Stars, and 5% for Woori Bank, depending on their regular season standings, advancement to the championship finals, and championships.
