National Youth Basketball Tournament wraps up first day of action with a bang


The first day of the national youth basketball tournament, which returned after an eight-month absence, was a success.

The first day of the Skydive Inje 2024 National Youth Basketball Tournament, which kicked off in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, on Aug. 8, concluded with a frenetic pace.

A total of 114 teams in nine categories participated in the four-day tournament, which ran from August 8-11. The first day of the National Youth Basketball Championship, which returned eight months after the last edition in December, 사설 토토사이트 was a huge success.

In the U10 division, Pyeongtaek Kimhoon topped the four-team Group A with three straight wins, while favorites Asan Samsung and Hanam KCC also cruised as expected to top their groups and advance to the finals. In the U10 division, which features a best-of-six format, the draw for the final tournament was made after the preliminary rounds, with Pyeongtaek Kimhoon and Asan Samsung topping Groups A and B to advance directly to the quarterfinals.

Group C winners Hanam KCC and Group A, B, and C runners-up Seongbuk Samsung, Wonju DB, and Osan The Most will begin the finals tournament with the quarterfinals.

In the hottest U11 division, the traditional powerhouses all advanced to the quarterfinals.

Songdo TOP and Team Six took first and second place in Group A, followed by Bundang SK and Gangnam Samsung in Group B, Osan The Most and Gimpo SK Gumdan Elite in Group C, and finally, Bundang Samsung and Dongdaemun Tomo in Group D. The two teams will face off in the quarterfinals on Monday.

In the U12 division, which featured 14 teams, the most among the elementary divisions, Gimpo SK and Sejong Yeonsemax stood out as the favorites. Gimpo SK and Sejong Yeonsemax went on a three-game winning streak to finish first in Group A and B to advance to the finals. They were joined in the quarterfinals by Siheung P4U, Wonju DB, Osan The Most, Wonju YKK, M&M Basketball Classroom, and Asan Samsung.

After a first day of action amidst a large family-friendly crowd for the holiday season, the SkyDunkin’ Invitational 2024 National Youth Basketball Tournament will conclude on Friday, Sept. 9, with the U9, U10, U11 and U12 bracket finals tournaments, while the U13 and U14 preliminary rounds will begin at the same time.
