The Samsung Lions will spend another week without a starter.

Samsung removed Connor Seabold from the first-team roster ahead of their match against the Hanwha Eagles in Daegu on June 6. It was to rest him.

Connor, who is 9-5 with a 3.75 ERA in 23 games this season, threw 96 pitches in six innings against SSG Landers on April 4. Despite giving up three runs, he got the win with help from his offense.

“His pitch count was a little high, and we thought it was the right time to give him a break,” said Samsung manager Park Jin-man, “so we adjusted the lineup to give him a break.”

With Connor out, Samsung decided to make a change in the starting rotation. Park decided to start Reyes against KIA in Gwangju on Tuesday, where Connor was supposed to start, and send out his replacement, Lee Seung-min, on Friday.

This left the starting lineup for the 11th in question.

Lee Seung-min, who started Game 6, went five innings and gave up four runs on five hits (one home run) with four strikeouts. He had only thrown 65 pitches, but the decision was made that he couldn’t pitch anymore.

“After the fifth inning, I had blisters on my fingers,” Park said. His next pitch is on Sunday, but we’ll have to wait a few more days to see how he’s doing,” Park said.

Lee was hit by a pitch on July 14 against the Doosan Bears and his pace has slowed down a bit. “His pace has dropped after being hit by a pitch, so we’re going to try to manage his condition,” Park said before the game.

If Lee is out, Hwang Dong-jae will start. Hwang Dong-jae took the mound behind Lee on the sixth, 메이저사이트 but gave up two runs on 14 pitches in ⅓ of an inning.

Park said, “I don’t have any cards. He didn’t throw many pitches yesterday. We’ll watch him for a day or two and decide whether to start him or not,” Park said.

Meanwhile, Samsung also removed foreign hitter Ruben Cardenas from the roster. Cardenas returned to the lineup as a pinch-hitter on June 6 after being sidelined with back pain. He returned to the game after 11 days, but struck out at the plate and looked a bit complacent on defense, allowing extra bases to advance. He even suffered the humiliation of being pulled from the game.

“I had him checked again and there was nothing wrong,” Park said, adding, “I think we need to wait and see.”
