Choi Sung-yong, President of the Korean Weightlifting Federation, has been re-elected as President of the East Asian Weightlifting Federation .”President Choi Sung-yong was elected as the second president of the East Asian Weightlifting Federation at the 2023 East Asian Weightlifting Federation Executive Committee meeting held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the 13th local time,” the Korean Weightlifting Federation said on Thursday. The East Asian Weightlifting Federation is comprised of eight member countries: South Korea, China, North Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia .Presidents or executives from six countries, excluding North Korea and Taiwan, were in attendance, and the six participating countries unanimously supported Choi’s re-election .Choi was elected as the first President of the East Asian Weightlifting Federation in November 2015 and will also serve as the second President. Choi is also the Vice President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation. At the meeting, the East Asian Weightlifting Federation decided to hold the first East Asian Weightlifting Championships in Seocheon, 스포츠토토존 Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, in September 2024.
