Incheon coach Cho Sung-hwan said, “The momentary situation…”Respect the referee’s decision.”

Incheon United head coach Cho Sung-hwan (53) thanked his players for the victory.

Incheon United defeated FC Seoul 1-0 in the 24th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22.

Head coach Cho Sung-hwan said, “We are playing with a grateful heart. There were many areas of concern on the pitch, but I am grateful that the players managed to secure the victory until the end. We will reward our fans by improving our performance during the break.”

Incheon recently lost Shin Shin-ho to injury, but the team was able to take the points with a more streamlined attack, making it three wins in a row in the league. “We prepared to play a better, more dominant game, pressing forward with Shin Shin-ho, Mpoku, and Jerso, but it didn’t work. We were lacking in many areas. It’s true that we’re playing the same style as last year and producing results,” he said, revealing that they’re playing in a similar style to last season.

The goal, which came from a corner kick in the 44th minute of the game, was controversial in terms of officiating. “It was a spur of the moment situation and I think you have to respect the referee’s decision. There were many other moments,” Cho said.

After beating Ulsan Hyundai, Daejeon Hana Citizen, and FC Seoul, Incheon will now face Jeonbuk Hyundai in a two-game series. Coach Cho Sung-hwan said, “It’s not only two games, but three games against Daegu. We will prepare well and strategically,” he said, vowing to bring home three points.

In the first 18 minutes of the match, Incheon conceded a penalty kick. However, Kim Dong-heon was able to save it, keeping the score at 1-0. “I think all the players, including the field players, faced all the situations that could happen in the game. I think we redeemed ourselves and are playing better and better,” Cho said. 안전놀이터
