Mbappe to face PSG president over not playing with Lee Kuan Yew

Kylian Mbappe (25-France) is back with his club for now, but his future with Paris Saint-Germain (F) is unclear. We may not get to see the passing game many fans are hoping for, with Lee Kang-In (22) whipping in a pass and Mbappe finishing.

Sky Sports in the UK. France’s Footmercato and other outlets reported on Aug. 18 that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will speak directly to Mbappe on the training ground.

Mbappe’s departure is the most talked-about topic in this summer’s transfer market. He is contracted to PSG until June 2024, and last month he wrote to the club to make it clear that he has no intention of re-signing with them. Mbappe continues to be linked to Real Madrid (Spain).

However, having invested so much money in bringing Mbappe to the club, PSG are keen to avoid the worst-case scenario of having to let him leave next year for nothing. PSG spent €180 million to sign Mbappe from AS Monaco in 2017.

Angered by the turn of events, president Al-Khelaifi told Mbappe: “We must make a decision in the next week or two before the summer. If he does not sign a new contract, we will have no choice but to sell him,” he said in an ultimatum.

However, Mbappe doesn’t appear to be in it for the long haul with PSG.

In an interview with France Football, Mbappe was critical, saying that “PSG is already a divided team”. “It doesn’t help to play for this team,” he said, hinting at a departure.

Mbappe, who took a leave of absence after the A-match last month amid the controversy, returned to training on Sunday alongside Achraf Hakimi (Morocco). According to the club, Mbappe will undergo a brief medical check and then proceed to full team training.

“President Al-Khelaifi is expected to visit the training ground to call for unity at the club,” Sky Sports said, adding that it will be his first face-to-face meeting with Mbappe since the recent controversy.

“PSG do not want Mbappe to leave as a free agent. It will be concluded one way or another.”

Meanwhile, PSG, who will embark on an Asian tour at the end of July, will play a friendly against K League club Jeonbuk Hyundai in Busan on March 3. It will be interesting to see if we can see Lee, Neymar (Brazil), 스포츠토토 and Mbappe in the same uniform, which many fans are looking forward to.
