Israeli military targets Hezbollah, Syria, causing at least 3 deaths.


Israeli forces have carried out an airstrike near the Syrian capital of Damascus, killing seven people.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a civil war monitoring organization, reported that Israeli forces attacked the Damascus neighborhood of Dimas in the early hours of Sunday morning, killing three people and injuring four others.

“One of the dead was identified as a Syrian government soldier and the other two as pro-Iranian militiamen,” Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told local media.

The targets of the attack were an arms depot of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah and a facility of the Syrian Army’s fourth division, the Observatory said.

The Israeli military has attacked Syria 20 times this year in an effort to counter Iran’s growing influence in the embattled country.
