Its Ryu Hyun-jin Will Pitch in the U.S. Next Year as Well.

Scott Boras (71), the agent of ‘Korean Monster’ Ryu Hyun-jin (36)

said that Ryu Hyun-jin will remain in the Major League (MLB) next year.

Boras met with reporters in Scottsdale, Arizona 지울프-토토

where the MLB general managers’ meeting was held on the 9th (Korean time) and responded to a question about free agent (FA) Ryu Hyun-jin by saying

Big league teams are very interested in Ryu Hyun-jin. He will be in the U.S. next year as well.

I will throw the ball in. Not in Korea,” he said.

Hyun-Jin Ryu signed a four-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2020. His contract expires at the end of this season, making him a free agent.

Ryu Hyun-jin can choose between staying in MLB or returning to the Hanwha Eagles.

Ryu Hyun-jin has the choice. Ryu Hyun-jin returned a year after undergoing elbow ligament surgery and threw the ball in good health.

His performance last year was 3 wins, 3 losses, and an average ERA of 3.46 in 11 games.

Although he didn’t pitch long innings, he showed that he could earn a spot as a starter on any team. The MLB market situation is good.

He has many starting pitchers for sale, and many teams are looking to hire him.

There were also reports in the United States that Ryu Hyun-jin’s worth was around $8 million (about 10.5 billion won).

Ryu Hyun-jin arrived in the country last month and said, “(My plan to play for Hanwha at the end of my career) has not changed, and of course I will do so.

I don’t know my future plans yet. I think I will have to wait and see what happens first.”

Hanwha officials, including Hanwha General Manager Son Hyuk, are constantly in contact with Ryu Hyun-jin.

Hanwha, which has been rebuilding its team since advancing to the 2018 postseason, has strengthened its pitching staff. If Ryu Hyun-jin joins

he will have two effects: strengthening his power and leading the growth of young pitchers as a leader of the pitching staff.

Boras, who is also the agent of Lee Jeong-hoo (25), said, “Almost half of the league clubs have inquired about Lee Jeong-hoo.

Boras cited Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida (30) as an example.

He had a batting average of 0.288, 15 home runs, and an OPS (slugging percentage + on-base percentage) of 0.784. Boras said, “Boston hired Yoshida because they knew his hitting skills were very good.”

Boras said, “Lee Jung-hoo is also a player with both defense and power. He also has an advantage as a center fielder.

I think Lee Jung-hoo will create a K-pop craze in MLB.”
