Gasworks lose first back-to-back games of the season…’Ace Silence – Heavier Heights’

Daegu KOGAS, which was expected to return to action at home after a nearly two-month break, suffered its first back-to-back losses of the season against Wonju DB.

In the first game of the second round of the 2024-25 KCC Pro Basketball League at the Daegu Gymnasium on Thursday evening, KOGAS was unable to overcome poor shooting and a height disadvantage from its offensive core, including 토토사이트 모음 Andrew Nicholson, and dropped the game 64-69.

After a rough start to the game, KOGAS trailed 15-17 after the first quarter and looked to be on their way to a 10-point lead in the second quarter. After a halftime tune-up, KOGAS made a huge third quarter comeback to pull within one point, and then took a 52-51 lead on a three-pointer by Nicholson at the start of the fourth quarter.

After a series of missed shots in the ensuing offensive possession, GAS went back down by eight points, before Kim Nak-hyun woke up the team with a three-pointer to keep the game close.

Nicholson’s dunk and a three-pointer brought the score back to one point, 64-65, but GAS Gonggong missed its final possession and allowed Yongwoo Lee to score twice down low to end the game.

Nicholson, who had been averaging 20 points per game, was held to 12 points on the night, hitting just one of his nine three-point attempts, but he was dedicated enough to pull down 14 rebounds.

Without Nicholson’s contributions from the perimeter, Gasol’s fatigue from back-to-back wins was evident, as he missed a number of shots from beyond the arc.

After losing in field goal attempts, rebounds, and fast breaks, except for three-pointers, GASCO suffered its first consecutive loss.

Coach Kang Hyuk, who said that the players’ bodies looked heavy throughout the game, evaluated the game as a mismanagement, saying, “We lost the rebounding and it became difficult at the end.

After seven straight wins and two straight losses due to the players’ physical strain and a quieter-than-usual ace, GAS started the second round in second place, one spot off the lead.

With DB’s recent sensitivity to questionable officiating, this game was no different, with several calls being overturned on video review and GASCO’s touchdowns being called even when physical contact seemed obvious, adding to the messy officiating that left coach Kang Hyuk looking grimmer than usual.

The team’s newest endeavor of the season, hard calls, is a little inconsistent, leaving a lot to be desired in what was otherwise a tightly contested game.

With back-to-back losses and two weeks to regroup, GAS will look to chase down the top of the standings when they host first-place Seoul SK on March 29th.
