The KBL Cup has begun. The returning Shaun Long led the way for the first win for the Hyundai Mobis.
The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus defeated the Goyang Sono Skygunners 90-74 in the first game of Group C of the 2024 KBL Cup on Friday at Jecheon Gymnasium. Hyundai Mobis was led by 13 points in the third quarter from Shaun Long, who returned from the Japanese League. He finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. After falling behind in the first and second quarters, Hyundai Mobis 토토 turned the tide in the third.
Hyundai Mobis also got good performances from Lee Woo-seok, Park Moo-bin, and Gage Prim. SONO was led by ace Lee Jung-hyun. He had 25 points and five assists, including three three-pointers. New foreign player Alan Williams added 23 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists. Transfer Lee Jae-do was held to just two points.
In the opening game of Group A, the Seoul Samsung Thunder defeated Sangmu 87-80. Kofi Coburn scored 19 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. Six of his turnovers were committed by Ok et al. Lee Won-seok added 18 points with an aggressive offense. For Sangmu, Yang Hong-seok scored 24 points, including four three-pointers, and Jeon Hyun-woo added 19 points, including five three-pointers.
