Suwon FC forward Anderson Oliveira was named Korean football’s top player for August on Wednesday.
The Korea Professional Football League (K League) said the Brazilian player, simply known as Anderson, beat out three candidates for the Player of the Month award for August in the top-flight K League 1.
Anderson also won the top monthly award for June. He is the only player this season to receive the Player of the Month prize twice.
In three matches last month, Anderson scored three goals and recorded an assist.
For the season, he is tied for the league lead with 17 goal involvements, thanks to his five goals and a league-high 12 assists. No other player has even reached double figures in assists this year.
The winner was chosen based on votes by the K League’s technical study group (accounting for 60 percent), fans 커뮤니티 voting on the K League website (25 percent) and players of EA Sports FC Online (15 percent) by Electronic Arts (EA) Sports, the league’s official video game partner.
Anderson topped the voting by the technical study group and EA Sports FC Online players and finished second to Yazan Al-Arab of FC Seoul in online fan voting
