All matches scheduled for Friday at the Korea Open tennis tournament have been pushed back to Saturday due to rain.

The WTA tournament’s organizing committee said the four quarterfinal matches originally set for Friday will begin at noon Saturday at Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul. The four winners will also have to play their semifinal matches on Saturday, starting at 4 p.m. or later.

Both of the doubles semifinals matches will also be played Saturday.

Barring further inclement weather, the singles and doubles finals will both be played Sunday.

The singles quarterfinal matches will be split at the center court and the second court.

The first match on the center court will pit Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil, No. 3 seed, against Polina Kudermetova of Russia.

It will be followed by the marquee match of the day, between the top seed from Russia, Daria Kasatkina, and the 한국을 2021 U.S. Open champion Emma Raducanu, the 2022 Korea Open semifinalist.

On the adjacent court, Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria will face Veronika Kudermetova of Russia, Polina’s sister. Diana Shnaider of Russia will face Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine later.

The Korea Open, the only WTA event held in South Korea each fall, has been elevated from WTA 250, the lowest level of tour events, to WTA 500 for this year, meaning the champion will earn 500 world ranking points. The purse has been raised from about $260,000 to $1 million
