The Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB) have added an experienced slugger to their fall baseball roster.
The Mariners acquired veteran slugger Justin Turner, 30, from the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in a trade that sent outfield prospect RJ Schreck to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Seattle, which sits in second place in the American League (AL) West, recently acquired slugger Randy Arosarena (29) from the Tampa Bay Rays, and the addition of Turner significantly bolsters its lineup.
Turner, who played alongside Ryu Hyun-jin (37) during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers, is a clutch hitter with a knack for getting on base.
His bat is down a bit this season, hitting .257 with six home runs and 31 RBIs, but he has plenty of experience in fall ball, having played in the postseason for the last nine years in a row.
“With nearly a decade of postseason experience, Turner’s wealth of experience will be a great addition to our roster,” Seattle manager Justin Hollander said.
Earlier in the day, Turner appeared in a Toronto uniform in the first game of a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles before being removed from the game when the trade was finalized. 토토사이트 추천
