The ‘Super Cup’ is back, a celebration of youth basketball dreams from around the world.
The NH Bank 2024 Asian Youth Basketball Super Cup, which was held in February in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, to great acclaim, will move to Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, for its second edition in just over five months. The official name of the tournament is ‘NH Bank 2024 Global Youth Basketball Super Cup’ and will be held simultaneously at six gymnasiums in Pocheon from December 12th to 14th. The tournament will be held across seven categories, including U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U15, and U18.
Organized and hosted by Pocheon City, Pocheon City Sports Association, Pocheon Basketball Association, and KXO (Korea 3×3 Basketball Federation), the tournament is sponsored by NH Bank, POSCO International, Sportsoto Korea, Wilson, Korea Welding Rod, Kookmin Furniture, Urban Space Engineering, 온라인카지노사이트 Kangsan Safety, Lexan.com, and Right Seoul Hospital.
After a successful first edition, the Super Cup will be held in Pocheon for the second time after more than five months of preparation. The first edition, held in Hongcheon, was the largest ever held and left its mark on the Korean youth basketball scene.
As the Korean youth basketball scene does not have easy access to overseas exchanges, international youth basketball tournaments held in Korea were bound to receive a great response, and the Super Cup, which was sponsored by major corporations, broadcast on KBS N Sports, and had a variety of side events, successfully established itself in the Korean basketball scene.
The second edition of the Super Cup in Pocheon is also highly anticipated.
With more than 80 teams from home and abroad confirmed to participate, youth basketball teams from the United States, Mongolia, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries will visit Pocheon, while leading Korean youth basketball schools such as Samsung, KCC, Songdo TOP, SK, DB, and Pyeongtaek Kimhoon will participate.
KBS N Sports, which has been supporting the development of youth basketball in Korea since the inaugural Super Cup, will continue its coverage. KBS N Sports will broadcast the tournament from 10 a.m. on the 13th and 9 p.m. on the 14th.
“We are pleased to host the second Super Cup in Pocheon,” said Jeong Jong-geun, Pocheon Sports Chairman. We have worked with the organizing committee chairwoman Choi Hee-am and other tournament officials to make sure that the tournament will be a good one. Many dreamers from home and abroad have come to Pocheon, and I hope they will enjoy the tournament without any injuries until the end of the tournament,” said Choi Hee-am, the organizing committee chairperson, promising the success of the tournament.
“The importance of grassroots basketball is becoming more important than ever,” said Choi Hee-am, chairperson of the organizing committee. After the success of the first Super Cup, we worked hard to prepare for the second Super Cup with Pocheon City, the Pocheon City Sports Association, and the Pocheon Basketball Association. I heard that many basketball classes are training hard for the Super Cup, and I hope that everyone will show off their skills to the fullest and make it a tournament that all players will be satisfied with.”
The NH Bank 2024 Global Youth Basketball Super Cup, which will be held for the second time in more than five months, will start at 12 p.m. on December 12 and will be broadcast live on YouTube before the tournament.
